Hey, I'm Kristi (she/her)! I am a Certified Birth + Postpartum Doula in Kelowna, BC. I am an uninvited guest on the beautiful and diverse unceded traditional territory of the Syilx Okanagan people.

 

I am a mama to two young boys who keep me busy and am married to my best friend. I was drawn to birth work after my first birth which involved complicated labor and delivery, as well as undiagnosed Postpartum Depression. I always knew I was meant to be a mom, but I felt overwhelmed by the transition. I was smiling for others while silently struggling. I quickly realized how little support is in place for new parents, and how much more support is needed during such a pivotal time.

I am a Registered Social Worker and have worked as a Counsellor with youth and families for several years in addressing trauma, mental health, and addictions. This work, my passion for supporting others, and my experience with becoming a parent led me to become a doula. I believe that maternal mental health is a priority and that you deserve to experience the joy of pregnancy + parenthood with your wellness in mind. As a doula, my goal is to provide you with the support you desire through pregnancy, birth, and the fourth trimester to leave you feeling empowered and confident.

Being welcomed into anyone's birth or postpartum space is an immense privilege. I am passionate about supporting all people on their journey to parenthood. With my professional background, I specialize in supporting parents with previous trauma (birth or other), history of pregnancy loss, previous operative births, or existing mental health challenges to provide them with a new chapter where they feel empowered and healthy. All folks are welcome in my work.
